Tropical Beat meets with the Prime Minister of the Common Wealth of Dominica.

On Monday, March 10th, 2008, Tropical Beat’s Advisor, Miguel Murphy and Tropical Beat’s current President, Gerard Righton received the rare opportunity of sitting alongside Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the

Commonwealth of Dominica and Honorable Peter St. Jean, member of Parliament in Dominica during a Town Hall Meeting at Elka’s Residence in North Lauderdale, Florida.

The Meeting began at 7:00pm with an opening prayer by Mr. Righton. It was organized by Glenda Honore and was chaired by Emile Serrant, natives of Dominica. Mr. St. Jean welcomed those in attendance and introduced Prime Minister Skerrit.

PM Skerrit briefed South Florida’s community of Dominicans by enlightening them on current issues in their homeland. He spoke about education, investment, and other issues currently affecting Dominica. He made mention of Dominica’s Reunion 2008; urging Dominicans abroad to visit Dominica throughout the remainder of the year and answered questions posed by audience members.


Mr. Murphy gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the community to the Prime Minister, Honorable Peter St. Jean, the organizers, the chair, and to all those who help made the event as successful as it was.
